Brazil and Netherlands, favourites to win the World Cup made it to the quarterfinals yesterday (28^th). Brazil extended their winning streak against Chile to eight and the Netherlands ended Slovakia's fairy tale run.

A two-goal blitz in the first half and an hour-mark goal in Johannesburg's Ellis Park Stadium ensured Brazil a meeting on Friday with a 3 – 0 win over Chile while the Netherlands beat World Cup debutants Slovakia 2-1 in Port Elizabeth the same day.

The quarterfinals between Brazil Netherlands will be worked out on 2^nd July.
