 Urumaran, the local agent of the LTTE’s international affairs head and its main arms dealer Kumaran Pathmanadan alias KP was arrested yesterday at a welfare camp in Vavuniya. He had come into the welfare camp with other civilians and was living there when Army intelligence was tipped off by a person who knew him. According to Army sources Urumaran was well educated and KP’s direct contact in the supply of weapons to the LTTE. He had admitted that he was the local handler of arms and ammunition that came to the LTTE from abroad mainly on sea going vessels. He had been in constant touch with KP even after arriving at the welfare centre, Army sources said adding whereabouts of KP could be traced by questioning and monitoring telephone calls Urumaran received on his satellite phone.
