If this couple were from America will Saudi Arabia stone them? negative. law of Saudi Arabia applies according to the nationalities. Asians are the most vulnerable to face the death penalty in Saudi Arabia. I am not sure if this poor couple guilty or not guilty but, sure they were not defended fully in the courts. the government must do their utmost to seek the release of this couple. dear Sri Lankans, if you are seeking employment in Arab countries be sure you respect their laws and culture and keep a low profile because we are the weakest. punishment for even a look at an Arab woman is 100 % sure for Sri Lankans. why you break the law when you have all the rights to come back to Sri Lanka anytime you wants? i pray for this couples safe return to Sri Lanka.

The law in Saudi is mostly applicable to foreigners. Most of the Saudi's break this sharia law openly and gone unpunished. The no one is above the law as per their constitution but being decrimanted immensly. Our poor workers are not educated for these laws of the country, it is not a crime as per the international standered to give a death sentence. Sri lankan foreign ministry should intervene to protect these innocent. Sri Lanka Govt is only interested to get the benefit from foreign slavery revenues not their welfare. President MR intervene to protect these innocents and you are to blamed for foreign slavery as we have no survival in our own country. Wake up! without making leisure tours to foreign country from tax payers money to protect the sri lankan in overseas.

ALF is a racist. he insults muslims, christians and the jews. in every religeon there are good and bad people. dont ever blame the religeon. people like you are worst enemies of the mankind. anyhow, the pair who were sentenced to death by stoning knows very well that what punishment awaits for them if ever caught. i am deeply sorry for them and pray that they will be released. ALF i am sorry for you just as i feel sorry for the pair. A RACIST IS A CANCER OF OUR SOCIETY. PLEASE TRY TO CURE YOURSELF.

As Jesus Christ said; the one who should throw the 1st stone is; who has never engaged in adultery or never did any kind of crime at least even in their thoughts. I wonder how many Saudi Arabians will have this right.

It is a shame that this kind of punishment has been meted out for the simple reason that Saudi Government policy is to be blamed for it. How can you go on importing labour in six digits and not have a plan like rights for them to have their families accompany them? Labor staff live there for two and three years in a row without seeing family and without entertainment, i.e. sports etc to get the energy out and have a healthy state of mind. On the other hand, the Saudis that commit adultery with these housemaids against their will go unpunished! This is what irks me as a Muslim. All we can do is keep shut when the non-Muslims call this hypocrisy! They are right and I do hope God gives oil or even better to poor countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc..

Coming from a person living in a country like UK this personally is atrocious. The Sri Lankan government should definitely intervene to protect our citizens. I haven't heard of this news anywhere else. if these were Americans or in fact any citizen from EU, US, Canada or Australia there would be media outrage by organizations such as the BBC and CNN, but not a single word now? Weather they believe it or not, they think that blood of a Westerner is more valuable than that of an Asian? One word: Preposterous

In saudi, and whole GCC, the law is theirs. HRW cant even spit, becos all these HRW get the money from GCC. Saudis go to Bahrain and Dubai to do everything under the sun, but in public they are saints. It is discrimination. Cant help it. You cant go to someone's house and do what you want; the "someone" calls the shots. Isnt it logical.

I wonder what the Muslim man is thinking about the sharia law. He could have had four wives according to Islam law and he didn't have to go after other women.

In pakisthan girls get raped daily. and to prove it as a rape there has to be 4 people who are well respected in society present while the rape happens. Like that will ever happen. You guys should look into stoping that rather than trying to stop the free will of people.

Having sex with the slave girls (war captives) was alright. But a man and a woman having sex is a punishable crime with "stone to death". If the man and the woman are not legally married, of course it is an offense. But if it is a "crime" for which the punishment is "stone to death", then the same people who gave this judgment, have to think about a punishment to the people who had sex with (raped??) innocent Slave girls (war captives).
I am trying to find a better word than Hypocrisy in the dictionary.

HRW guys are busy in attacking democratically elected governments, (may be more lucretive...) they have no time to waste about Saudi Aarabia which is also a close friend of the US.
Anyway, I do hope our foreign ministry would do all they can to avoid the barbaric punishment.

Most problems/wars/Brutal executions are initiated by the people with circumsized..... Americans, Israelis(jews)
,some Islamic countries. I wonder what could be the reason. By removing some highly densed nerves in the body,in long term is it making
brain to go bonkers.. who knows...

This type of punishments should be intruduced in Sri Lanka also. They need to show this in the Sri Lankan TV for the public to be aware of such punishments and learn bitter lesson. We welcome Saudi law

Imagine if this law is applicable to Sri Lanka..!! We will run short of quarries to get enough stones and will have to import the stuff.
