Uni. Teachers gearing up for struggle again

University teachers carried out a continuous strike for nearly 100 days demanding 6% of GDP for education and regarding other issues related to education sector. This was temporally stopped on several agreements reached with authorities.

However, authorities have not responded favourably to these agreements and the Executive Committee of FUTA will meet today (25th) to discuss the latest situation says its President Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri.

Dr. Devasiri further said the Executive Committee would discuss what actions should be taken if authorities continue to ignore the agreements reached.
