350 million for senior ministers while only 50 million for public service

It is reported that Rs. 395,425,000 has been allocated to maintain senior ministers from the Appropriation Bill to be presented to Parliament.

Seven eighth (7/8) of this allocation, which is Rs. 344,425,000 has been allocated for recurrent expenditure which is expenditure to maintain ministers’ staffs, vehicles, fuel, rent and daily affairs of offices.

Only one eighth (1/8) of the allocation has been set aside for capital expenditure which is Rs. 51,000,000.

Political analysts say the President should explain to the country why such a colossal sum of money is wasted when only a trifle is allocated for education and the health sector in the country.
