Keheliya explains why Malaka was not arrested

The Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella spoke yesterday (13th) regarding the failure to arrest Minister Mervin Silva’s son Malaka Silva.

At the media conference held at the Ministry of Mass Media and Information a journalist has said Minister Mervin Silva’s son Malaka Silva who assaulted an Army Major at a tourist hotel has not been arrested. However, he has visited Kelaniya Temple with Hirunika and worshipped ‘Sarvagna’ relics.  He had asked whether it wasn’t possible to arrest him there.

The Minister has responded saying “The place is important to take a person to custody. It is not suitable to arrest a person when worshiping the relics. It is an insult to the ‘Sarvagna’ relics as well,” he has added.

Interestingly, the incident in which Malaka assaulted an Army Major occurred at a party held at Jaik Hilton to celebrate Minister Keheliya Rambukwella's sons birthday.

Oh!be realistic. One law for the innocent people and one law for the minister's sons. This will make all the law abiding citizens of the whole world sick.Having lived in a foreign counry for so long, yet going home twice a year.I would like to know when is the law going to be fair to every citizen living in Srilanka?
