Are you a registered voter? Check online!

The Department of elections has made provisions for voters to check their eligibility to vote. For the first time, the electoral register in Sri Lanka has been linked to the Internet. The 2011 electoral list has gone online from yesterday (3rd).

The registered voter could go online and check whether his or her name has or not been duly registered.

Further, if the name is not there it is possible to report it online and those, whose names appear in several locations, will also be able to clarify these issues.

As you enter your district, plus NIC Number within a matter of seconds, you have a page opening out with your registration data, along with details of the other householders. Go to:

To check your eligibility name on the electoral register go to: http://www.slelections.gov.lk/electoral/

This is absolute humbug. They are asking for User Name and Password and not providing any way of registering these. Another form of Gilmart?

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am unable to verify myself in the voters list. It is asking username and password instead of district name and the NIC. Please attend the matter. Thank you.

This is humbug. It asks for a UN and password that we never know. The suggested district and ID number doesnot work . No other information about them is nowhere to find. This is a shame!

We cannot find anything as it needs a user name and password.Even when we put our District as user name and Id as password it doesnot work.
