10,000 doctors have left the country – Ministry of Health

About 200 doctors go abroad every year and only a very small number of them returns to the country states a senior official of the Ministry of Health.

Speaking to the media he has further said about 10,000 doctors who have gone abroad have not returned to Sri Lanka but are serving in foreign countries.

He has said the number of doctors leaving the country has greatly increased during the last few years.

THERE HAS TO BE A GOOD REASON FOR THEM TO DO SO. WHY NOT LOK IN TO THAT AND RECTIFY IT.
WE HEAR EVERY DAY BOAT LOADES OF PEOPLE RISKING THEIR LIVES TO LEAVE THIS COUNTRY.
PUNISHING THEM WONT HELP ERASE THE PROBLEM. HEAL THE CAUSE.
BOTTOM LINE IS STOP CORRUPTION/ ENGAGE IN FAIR PLAY/GOOD GOVERNANCE/ UPHOLD JUSTICE AND FAIR PLAY EQUALLY TO ALL
