No drugs at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital
Eleven kinds of drugs including Insulin, administered for diabetic patients are not available at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital say reports.
Among drugs that are not available in the hospital are Metformin used in combination with insulin to treat people with type 2 diabetes, Atorvastatin (Lipitor) used for lowering high cholesterol and Enalapril used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).
Patients have to buy these drugs from private pharmacies paying high prices.
