UPFA Chairman on the run

A police operation has been launched to arrest the Chairman of UPFA controlled Waththegama Urban Council Krishanthe Liyanage say reports.

Waththegama Police have received a complaint that the Chairman of Waththegama UC assaulted and caused injuries to Pradeep Yasawardene, a youth who is having a fruit stall in the area. The police have launched the operation to arrest the Chairman who is absconding.

A senior police officer said the Chairman has left the area, his residence is closed and the attempt to arrest his has not been successful so far.
