
Several railway trade unions have decided to engage in a strike action from midnight today (30th) say reports. According to sources engine drivers, guards, controllers and station masters are preparing to carry out a 48-hour token strike.
The Locomotive Engine Drivers Union Secretary Indika Dodamgoda said the strike action has been decided due to the several issues including the delay of implementing the cabinet paper correcting the salary anomalies relevant to Railway services Grade 4 and supervisory management not being addressed by authorities.
As authorities have preferred to avoid any discussion with trade unions the strike action would be definitely carried out state trade unions.
