The debate on the ‘New York Times’ revelation that a Chinese company had spent for the election campaign of Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa at the presidential election held last was held in Parliament yesterday (19th).
The Leader of the JVP and the Chief Opposition Whip Anura Dissanayaka participating in the debate said those who were involved in robberies have got agitated. He said just like Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe cannot be ignored when debating the Central Bank bond scam. Former Minister of Housing cannot be forgotten when talking about frauds and corruption that have been committed when distributing houses. He said similarly, Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa’s name cannot be ignored when debating the New York Times revelation.
Mr Dissanayaka said no developments have been carried out giving priority to the needs of the country and emphasized that what is needed is carrying out affairs giving priority to the development of the country.
