The JVP is prepared for any debate to prove that Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa had received money from China for his propaganda campaign during the last presidential election and would challenge Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa for a debate says The Leader of the JVP Anura Dissanayaka.
Mr Dissanayaka made this challenge when he spoke at a rally held at Nochchiyagama yesterday (21st). The meeting was held concurrent with the programme of ten thousand public rallies being held throughout the island under the theme “People’s administration to protect & develop country”.
Mr Dissanayaka said he expected Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa to participate in the debate held in Parliament recently and prove that he did not receive money from China. However, Mr Rajapaksa avoided participating in the debate pointed out Mr Dissanayaka.
“There was a debate in Parliament a few days ago. A Chinese company has given Mr Rajapaksa money equivalent to Rs.1100 million. We expected Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa to defend himself. You would have seen that we showed cheque numbers, those who cashed the cheques and how cash was taken to Temple Trees and how it was handed over. If Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa was innocent he could have come to Parliament and answer the questions. Not only Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa but his son Namal and his brother Chamal too were absent. However, he visits temples and comes out with different stories.
Even if he did not participate in the debate in parliament, I would challenge that the JVP is prepared to prove that he has taken money from the Chinese company,” said Mr Dissanayaka.
Why is it that most media outlets are dead silent on this matter. Thanks to the JVP, the facts have come out, even to the embarrassment of the Government who treated the recent debate as a joke..
