Scholarship from JVP to children of driver assaulted by 4 youths at Teldeniya

The JVP has taken measures to make available a scholarship of Rs.5000 a month for the educational facilities of the children of Mr Kumarasinghe, the driver who was killed when he was assaulted in Teldeniya town by four youths recently.
The scholarship was presented by the Executive Committee of Saudi – Riyadh Muslim Council as a result of the mediation by the Saudi Arabian – Riyadh Committee of the JVP and the Committee of Ethera Api Organization in Saudi Arabia. The JVP Committee in Australia too has contributed to the scholarship.
The presentation was headed by the Kandy District leader of the JVP Gayan Janaka and was participated by the Organizer of the Saudi – Riyadh Committee of the JVP and President of the Saudi – Riyadh Committee of ‘Ethera Api’ organization Razeen Deen, JVP Councilor to Medha Dumbara Pradeshiya Sabha Piyal Weerasekera, District Organizer of Socialist Youth Union and JVP Councilor to Poojapitiya Pradeshiya SabhaIrantha Dilshan Rupasinghe, Grama Seva Officer of Ambale Ms. Kanchana Jayawickrema, widow of late Mr. Kumarasinghe and his two children.
