Maithri – Ranil disagreement puts off cabinet reshuffle

February 22, 2018 by NHL Werasinghe 1 Comment

The expected cabinet reshuffle that was scheduled to be carried out today (22nd) has been indefinitely postponed as a result of a disagreement between President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe say reports.
Earlier, both the UNP and the SLFP attempted to form their own government but failed to do so due to non-availability of a majority. Both camps agreed to continue with the ‘joint’ government with a cabinet reshuffle.
