“Today politics has become a business a robbery. We have heard of a group of sea pirates in Somalia. What they do is plunder the ships that sail near Somalia waters. There is only a small difference between these pirates and the leaders of our governments. The difference is Somali pirates adorn strange garments when they plunder ships. However, our ‘plunderers’ wear tie and coat or the national dress to engage in their plunder of public money. Hence, the rulers of our country are a group of plunderers, not administrators. The politics in our country has deteriorated to the rock bottom,” said the General Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva.
He said this addressing the Convention of Dhiriya Purawesi Societies of Kurunegala district held yesterday (18th) headed by him and the Member of the Central Committee of the JVP Namal Karunaratna as a part of the series of summits being held by the JVP throughout the island under the theme ‘“Gamata Diriyak – Ratata Balayak” (Boost for the Village & Power for the Country). A large crowd was present.
