Abolish SAITM – masses demand rulers

A large number of state and private sector institutions joined the ‘protest day’ organized today (2nd) by the ‘Anti-SAITM People’s Wall’ to demand the government to abolish SAITM illegal medical degree selling institute.
Poster campaigns, distribution of leaflets, signing petitions, village dramas were carried out by protestors in many parts of the island.

Ravi at bond commission

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ravi Karunanayaka who was the Minister of Finance when the infamous bond scam was committed arrived today (2nd) at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Central Bank bond issue.
Recording evidence from Mr. Karunanayaka who arrived at about 9.30 a.m. commenced at 10.30 say reports.
The Minister will be asked about a letter he had sent to the former Governor of the Central Bank, buying and taking up residence at Monarch apartments.
He had been summoned to the Commission on a number of occasions but had avoided it quoting various reasons.
