
The Government Surveyors’ Association (GSA) has launched a trade union action of medical leave reporting today (11th) and tomorrow (12th) demanding solutions for not recruiting surveying assistants, obstructions to surveying affairs due to diverting officials to other outside work away from their normal duties and other issues. The Association states despite the government was informed regarding their demands on several occasions, there hasn’t been any response.
If the government fails to respond to their demands they would launch a continuous strike from the 13th states GSA.
The issues have been discussed with the new Minister of Lands Gayantha Karunatilleke states GSA and adds despite promising a solution within a week, there hasn’t been any favourable response from him for the last one and a half months and they were forced to take the trade union action.
