
Former Army Commander Gen. Daya Rathnayaka has been questioned by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges for more than five hours regarding removing machinery worth millions belonging to the cement factory at Kankasanthurai as scrap iron.
The investigation is being carried out on a complaint received by the Commission that Sri Lanka Army removed machinery in the factory worth millions without informing Cement Corporation or the Cement Company on the pretext of removing scrap iron around the factory and thereby causing a loss of millions to the company.
