Reports sent to Court on Eknaligoda case erroneous

The CID revealed to Court on the 22nd that the reports in connection with the Eknaligoda disappearance case submitted on an order from Homagama Magistrates Court by the Commissioner of Prisons and the Commander of the Army are erroneous and Court ordered the Commissioner of Prisons and the Commander of the Army to compile the reports correctly and submit them again.
ASP Shani Abeysekera of the CID told Court that the report ordered by Court on persons who had supplied meals to officers of intelligence division who had been arrested for abducting journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda and disappeared him had not been signed by the Commissioner of Prisons but another official.
Also, the report submitted by the Commander of the Army regarding SIM cards relevant to the case on orders from Court too was erroneous said the ASP and asked Court to issue another order to get the correct report.
Magistrate Udaya Ranatunga, after considering the submissions issued orders to the Commissioner of Prisons and the Commander of the Army to make available necessary reports and put off the hearing till 4th May.
