Former Governor of Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) Arjun Mahendran has asked for approval for a bid of Rs. 10 billion that was put forward at the bond issue says the Superintendent of the Public Debt Department of the CMSL Deepa Kanthi Seneviratna. This was disclosed by Ms. Seneviratna before the Presidential Commission to Investigate the Bond Scam.
She stated that an order made by Arjun Mahendran was opposed by all the members of the Tender Board. However, the relevant document was signed by the members when the Deputy Governor of CBSL P. Samarasiri informed that Arjun Mahendran would not change his decision.
