Weerawansa’s NFF followers queue up before Courts

Former Minister and NFF leader Wimal Weerawansa’s brother Sarath Weerawansa was re-remanded until 7th November by Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna today (24th).

Sarath Weerawansa was arrested on 1st September in connection with misuse of vehicles belonging to Presidential Secretariat during Mahinda Rajapaksa regime. NFF Parliamentarian Jayantha Samaraweera too was remanded for the same offence but was released on bail today.
NFF former Parliamentarian Piyasiri Wijenayaka has been summoned by the Presidential Commission to the public to submit their complaints and petitions regarding inquiries into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) today in connection with the investigations being conducted on a charge of obtaining police security despite he was defeated at the election.
