Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has given the head of Avant Garde Nissanka Senadhipathy permission to take treatment for one year in Singapore and in Germany.
A case has been filed against Senadhipathy by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption on charges of misappropriation millions of state money. The Commission objected giving permission for the suspect who is charged of misappropriating such a large sum of money a period of one year to be away from the country. However, the Court gave permission for the head of Avant Garde to be away from the country for one year.
The Magistrate released the passport of the suspect on three additional personal bails of Rs.5 million each and ordered that Senadhipathy’s wife, brother and brother-in-law should sign as sureties.
