A decision has been taken to increase the prices of liquor and cigarettes with effect from today (3rd) states the Ministry of Finance.
Accordingly, a cigarette priced at Rs.30 would be increased to Rs.33.
Also, a bottle of beer which contains 5% Alcohol by volume (ABV) has been increased by Rs.40 while a bottle of beer with more than 5% ABV would cost Rs.60 more.
The price of liquor produced locally with molasses has been increased by Rs.110 per liter while a liter of foreign liquor has been increased by Rs.160.
A bottle of locally produced liquor would be increased by Rs.40 states the Ministry of Finance.
