New Delhi is not Bodhgaya

JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe

Lanka Truth

Question - 15th SAARC Summit is to be held in Sri Lanka. What is your opinion about that?

Answer - This summit is held mainly to boost the image of Sri Lanka. President Mahindaa Rajapaksha is also manipulating everything in line with a political agenda of his own and seems to be using this summit as a part of it.

However at the verge of this summit, the most talked about subject is whether Sri Lankan government can provide security for the regional state leaders participating at this summit. Indian authorities who raised this question seriously have already done enough damage to the reputation of Sri Lanka. The established opinion throughout the world is that Sri Lanka cannot provide security for the SAARC summit.

Therefore thousands of Indian soldiers are due to arrive in Sri Lanka to provide security for the Indian Prime Minister. The fact that Sri Lankan security forces are incapable of providing security for SAARC heads of state and Indian forces and helicopters landing in Sri Lanka will not help boost the image of Sri Lanka let alone leave it as it is. Sri Lanka has already lost. The sovereignty of Sri Lanka has been infringed.

India has right throughout tampered with the sovereignty and independence of Sri Lanka, humiliated it. It must be told that this is just another step of the nefarious hegemonic process.

On the other hand the entry of foreign forces into the country contradicts the affirmation of the government that they have by now stamped out the Tigers and ensured the security of Colombo.

Therefore holding the SAARC summit to the whims and fancies of India is a waste of public coffers. Above all, what takes place lends value to the utter lie that Sri Lanka is a failed state.

President at this moment is going to wed on loan to save his deteriorating image. The people of this country have to repay the loans.

Question - At this moment Indo Lanka relations are not in good shape, are they?

Answer - Not only at this moment, Indo Lanka relations were not in good shape for a long time. These relations had grown worse from the beginning of 80's. Indo Lanka ties turned grossly worse right throughout since India began to play the role of the elder brother in the South Asia region.

India blatantly challenged our sovereignty and independence. The climax of that minute process was India using Tamil separatist organizations as a substitute for the Indian Army and exporting the war to this country against Sri Lanka. That is the only time when one country in the south Asian region exported war against another country in the same region. Tamil separatist terrorists in Sri Lanka were trained on Indian soil in Indian army camps by officer s of the Indian Army. Indian Government armed the terrorist organizations. Diplomatic status was given to terrorists.

We say in no uncertain terms that India has not given up ties with separatist organizations    that have broken away from the Tigers organization and also with the separatist, terrorist Tigers organization. They are still friends with the Tigers organization. Several officers of the Indian Intelligence Agency, RAW, are also involved in this business.

Question -  Though you say so, there was a time when India distanced from the problem in Sri Lanka and allowed Norway to take over.

Answer - No that was only superficial. Indian was Behind the Ranil - Praba ceasefire agreement brokered by Norway. That was disclosed by Indian analytical writer M.R. Narayan on last 17th of February. His disclosure was published in the web site of the IANS news agency. Two days latter that news disappeared from the internet.

Thereafter on last 15th April, John Hanson Boer had told Hindu Newspaper that India will play a decisive role in the crisis in Sri Lanka. According to Boer, India will play the role of the main party as India is the leading power in the region. Boer's forecast came true. India in the last few months in particular assumed even a greater role than that of the main party. They were in a state of making threats or orders.

Question - Do you say that this government and the President can't stand upright before India?

Answer - Yes, that has been manifest many a times up to now. I do not believe that a President who went to the residence of Indian high commissioner and his government can stand upright and stand steadily for the sovereignty and independence of Sri Lanka. That is regrettable. Presidents who went to the residences of US Ambassadors came from Latin America. Leaders in Banana republics went to the houses of United State Ambassadors.

They got instructions and did as they were told. The first state leader in our country who came down to that level is President Mahinda Rajapaksha.

Question - Can we not have India and Norway as facilitators in our problem?

Answer - No Both these parties provide facilities for Tigers Organization and separatist organizations. India provides facilities for themselves.

Question -  Why do you say so?

Answer - India plucks the bee hive not to lick, but to stuff all the bee hives in the mouth. There seems to be an understanding between the two countries about the fuel deposits in Sri Lanka.

When the ceasefire agreement was in force, Norway oil minister very often met Indian authorities associated with power. Solheim in the meantime came to Sri Lanka via New Delhi. On his way back to Oslo, he stopped in New Delhi to brief the "Big Brother" in the region about what they did in Sri Lanka and what they are going to do in Sri Lanka.

By now India has signed an agreement with Sri Lanka on oil. They swallowed 90% of the bee hive.

Another agreement which is disadvantageous to Sri Lanka is due to be signed in the future.

It is easy to implement Indian economic expansionism in Sri Lanka if Sri Lanka is a weak country. Sri Lanka is weak as long as the internal problem is there. Then leaders in Sri Lanka cringe before India. Did we not see how Mr. J R Jayawardhana who was thought to be a giant knelt down before India? But he too did not go to the residence of Mr. Dixith. That too must be recalled.

To understand what India Norway and so called international community do, the malice of the Washington - Brussels - Oslo - Tokyo -New Delhi evil axis must be understood. All these are trying to make the balance of force  between the Sri Lanka Government forces and Tigers Organization advantageous to the Tigers Organization and create a situation where there is neither war nor peace. Our leaders do not understand this. That is the misfortune of the country. As long as these interventions are there, these countries will not allow Sri Lankan security forces to acquire the honor of defeating Tigers and separatism. Though bitter, that is the truth.

We will not win as long as we cannot distinguish between the enemy and the friend. The sovereignty of the country will not be protected.

The President, government, United National Party and also printed and electronic media and vast majority of intelligentsia, clergy and civil society organizations are scared to speak the truth about India. All these together jointly attack the JVP that criticises and forces India to change its foreign policy for building friendship in the region , having seen the enmity of India in its true form and nature. All these are grossly erring. They have mistaken New Delhi for Bodhgaya

When we oppose Indian foreign policy, that is interpreted as though we are also opposed to the people of India, we force the Buddhists not to go on pilgrimage to India.

See the statements made by the powerful troika in India, i.e. the defense adviser to the Indian Prime Minister, Mr. M K Narayanan, foreign secretary  Shivshanker Menon and defense secretary Vije Singh in respect of Sri Lanka during the recent few months. This troika thinks that Sri Lanka is a province of India. They try to manipulate our economy and politics in a way that is advantageous to them. As long as there is such a vain, conservative Arrogant, bureaucracy in India, not only Sri Lanka but also the other countries in the region will not be free of problems.

Question -  Is there any evidence for you to say so?

Answer - Yes, there is enough evidence. Many responsible leaders in the region level this allegation against India. Is there any more solid evidence other than this?

That is the good name Indian infamous bureaucracy has earned. Such a bureaucracy is steering India, not political leaders. They are the people who put the political leaders in trouble.

Do you remember how in 1980's former High Commissioner for Sri Lanka Mr.  Dixith implicated Mr. Rajiv Gandhi in serious trouble in the question of foreign policy towards Sri Lanka. Mr. Rajiv Gandhi finally lost his life. These very bureaucrats have reduced the government of Mr. Manmohan Singh to a minority government.

Question - How is that?

Answer - In ignorance of vehement protests in India, the government of Manmohan  Singh made arrangements to sign a nuclear   agreement with United States. This agreement forms Washington -Tel Aviv - New Delhi evil axis. United States of America is trying to control China which is expected to be an economic giant in Asia through India. Meanwhile India through this agreement seeks to neutralize the power of the Pakistan - China alliance. Now what is the ultimate result? Left, right and the middle in India have opposed the government of Manmohan Singh. Bharatiya Janatha Party, alliance of left parties and Mayawathie's party have withdrawn their support to the government. Therefore the government became unstable. India will very soon have to go for an election. That is the result of silly foolishness of the  vain, conservative, Arrogant, bureaucracy Governments collapse, but the bureaucracy does not. Indian bureaucracy is so powerful.

Question -  Will Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Participate at the SAARC summit held in Sri Lanka?

Answer - Indian Prime Minister is in serious trouble. First the government is a minority government Second inflation has gone up and prices have increased. Therefore people are discontented with the government. Therefore they cannot go for an election. They cannot form a winning alliance if they happen to go for an election.

They also have to show Tamilnadu that they are strict with Sri Lanka. Otherwise they will lose friends there.

Question - Tamilnadu is pressing the central government in New Delhi?

Answer - Yes, all powerful parties in Tamilnadu are pressing Mr, Manmohan Singh to regain Kachchative which is a part of and belongs to Sri Lanka. I declare outright that this agitation did not originate in Tamilnadu.

The architects of this agitation are in New Delhi. The story that Sri Lanka Navy fired at Tamilnadu fishermen is fabricated.

Indian Central Government and "RAW" are behind this agitation. That is one other step of the Indian economic, political expansionist project. It must be investigated as to how much it is related  Kachchative to oil deposits. Very soon a group from Tamilnadu will come to  Kachchative to occupy it. Indian army will follow them to chase them away and the Indian Army will be rooted there forever.
