Next year is an election year! – President

All SLFP electoral organizers were informed by President Mahinda Rajaopakse that next year would be an election year and they should make preparations from not on. The President made this announcement when a special meeting of the SLFP organizers was held at Temple Trees on Thursday.

The President had said elections for five provincial councils have to be held next year and the general election should be held during early January in 2010. He had added the Central Committee of the SLFP would discuss the matter further.
President Rajapakse had said certain political parties say they are an example to other political parties but the SLFP should be able to a better example.
