Govt. moves would make people in the East continue to become victims of terrorism! – Anura Dissanayake
The people in the East would be further victimized by terrorism as a result of the undemocratic acts of the government in the provincial council election in the East says JVP Parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Speaking at a media meeting held in Colombo yesterday Mr. Dissanayake said, “The people in the East should reap the benefits of the victories of heroic Security Forces in the East by liberating that province. Among the reasons for them to be submissive to tiger terrorism were unequal treatment and none granting of equal rights to them. After the Security forces liberated the area an atmosphere should be created so that those masses would have confidence in democracy. The right for them to elect their own representatives should be strengthened. The people in the East have been battered by terrorism. They have been denied democracy and freedom for a long time. Hence, denying them democracy and freedom would further make them victims of terrorism. The petit objectives of the government would drag Sri Lanka towards another great danger,” said Mr. Dissanayake.
